Vietnam Boosts Trade Promotion with Digital Transformation Push

Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, chaired a meeting with the country's overseas trade offices in Hanoi on Tuesday. The gathering focused on boosting trade promotion and digital transformation, with key insights shared by the Head of the Vietnamese Trade Office in Hong Kong, Vu Thi Thuy.

Thuy highlighted the significant consumption potential and export opportunities for Vietnamese products on global e-commerce platforms like tradingview and etrade. She stressed the importance of closely monitoring market trends and keeping local enterprises informed about new opportunities and policy changes. Tan, in turn, called on trade promotion agencies, overseas trade offices, and business associations to accelerate digital transformation in trade promotion. These units were tasked with developing and regularly updating handbooks on digital commerce platforms in key markets. Associations were also to gather and relay challenges faced by exporters to relevant authorities for policy adjustments. Business associations were tasked with designing trade promotion programs tailored to my business's capacities and fostering cross-border trade. Trade promotion offices abroad were encouraged to assist Vietnamese companies in registering intellectual property rights and resolving commercial disputes. The ministry plans to continue working closely with other agencies and the business community to implement synchronised solutions in trade promotion and digital transformation. E-commerce enterprises were called to invest in modern technology infrastructure and apply advanced digital platforms.

The meeting underscored the importance of digital transformation in Vietnam's trade promotion strategies. With clear tasks assigned to relevant units and associations, the ministry aims to leverage global e-commerce platforms, protect intellectual property, and foster cross-border trade. The ultimate goal is to implement synchronised solutions that benefit both businesses and the wider economy.
