While the ADAC in Saxony anticipates a smooth traffic flow on long-distance routes during the upcoming Ascension Day and Pentecost holidays, congestion is expected on certain routes, particularly in and around Dresden.
The construction work on the bottleneck between Dresden Old Town and the Nossen interchange on the A4 (Görlitz-Eisenach) motorway is scheduled to continue until the end of the year. However, construction work in Wilsdruff is expected to be completed by Ascension Day, making the bypass between Nossen and Wilsdruff navigable again with minimal congestion.
The ADAC advises travelers to be aware that Ascension Day and Pentecost are traditional holiday weekends that often lead to heavier traffic on routes to tourist destinations in Saxony.
