** anticipated traffic issues during Ascension Day and Pentecost holidays in Saxony, as ADAC predicts a bottleneck

While the ADAC in Saxony anticipates a smooth traffic flow on long-distance routes during the upcoming Ascension Day and Pentecost holidays, congestion is expected on certain routes, particularly in and around Dresden.

The construction work on the bottleneck between Dresden Old Town and the Nossen interchange on the A4 (Görlitz-Eisenach) motorway is scheduled to continue until the end of the year. However, construction work in Wilsdruff is expected to be completed by Ascension Day, making the bypass between Nossen and Wilsdruff navigable again with minimal congestion.

The ADAC advises travelers to be aware that Ascension Day and Pentecost are traditional holiday weekends that often lead to heavier traffic on routes to tourist destinations in Saxony. Even though construction activities are ongoing on roads and bridges, travelers should be mindful and allow extra time and patience.

Potential congestion points extend beyond the bottleneck in Dresden-Nossen, including federal highways B171 in Marienberg (both directions), B101 in Schwarzenberg, B169 in Schneeberg and Gablenz, B80 in Lugau / Erdmannsdorf, B92 to the Thuringian border, and the border crossing of the A17 motorway in Breitenau towards Prague.

To avoid peak traffic times, the ADAC recommends setting off early in the morning or late in the evening. Before starting a journey, drivers are encouraged to check current traffic reports, consider alternative routes, and utilize navigation services. Furthermore, taking regular breaks on long journeys and demonstrating patience are crucial for smooth travels during these holiday weekends.

Despite the Commission's efforts to safeguard workers from carcinogen exposure, one might also consider adopting a healthier lifestyle during holidays such as Ascension Day and PentecOB, minimizing car usage and weather-dependent activities. On the contrary, weather forecasting can aid travelers in determining the best time to commence their journey during these peak travel periods, potentially avoiding weather-related disruptions.
