Scania Launches Zero-Emission Bus & Coach Platform at Busworld Europe

Scania has introduced a new battery-electric bus and coach platform at Busworld Europe, marking its entry into the zero-emission coach news market. The platform caters to various assignments, from inter-city traffic to airport shuttles and sports team coaches.

Carl-Johan Lööf, Scania's Head of Product Management for People Transport Solutions, confirms that the new platform addresses operators' concerns about combining zero-emission news operations with diverse assignments.

The platform offers flexibility with adaptable e-machine output (up to 330 kW), installed energy (up to 534 kWh), and charging capacity (up to 325 kW). It is also designed for urban applications, providing a scalable pathway to zero-emission bus rapid transit news systems in cities worldwide.

Scania's comprehensive ecosystem of electrification services includes smart charging solutions and access to public charging stations. This supports the company's expansion into new market segments with its first zero-emission coaches.

Meanwhile, competitors like Daimler Buses offer the Setra 'H₂ Coach' and Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, while MAN Truck & Bus introduces the MAN Lion’s Coach 14 E at Busworld Europe 2025. Yutong presents various battery-powered bus series at the same news event.
