Christmas Spectacular in the Heart of Harburg - Ho-Ho-Ho-Harburg: The festive season has officially hit Harburg! To make your winter even more magical, Harburg Marketing, along with dedicated Harburg partners, prepares a mesmerizing Advent program for 2024. Over the next few weeks, both the city and the Binnenhafen will morph into a breathtaking Christmas wonderland, filled with enchanting moments and numerous events.
Just as reported, the Winter Lighting was warmly celebrated in the Höhlertwiete. The stunning 80+ twinkling Christmas stars adorning the city's lanterns are a remarkable achievement of a special apprentice project with Horst Busch.
Joining the beloved Christmas stars, a sparkling Christmas tree will shine on the canal square in the Binnenhafen this year. Set up on November 29, the tree will be lovingly decorated by Kulturwerkstatt and committed citizens on December 8. The grand illumination takes place on December 9, its radiant lights flickering brilliantly until January 12.
For the third time, the Gloria Tunnel will stunningly transform into a luminous masterpiece! The well-known X-Mas Wall, originated from a collaborative project with the Urban Art Institute and enthusiastic Harburgers, will be rebuilt. This remarkable artwork, sprayed with special night glow paint, captivates not only during the day but also enchants in the dark - completely electricity-free. The X-Mas Wall remains an unforgettable visual spectacle and a popular photography hotspot, adding that special flair to the Harburg Christmas season.
Beginning December 1 and running until December 24, Harburg residents can look forward to an extraordinary Advent calendar: Each day, an institution within the city will unlock its "door," revealing Christmas activities and exclusive offers. From crafting sessions, baking workshops, vouchers, or small presents - every day brings new festive surprises.
Collaborating with "Entrepreneurs without Borders," Harburg Marketing has created 24 imaginative "doors" for the calendar, with financial support from "in the middle of Harburg." On December 7, the Harburg Info will transform into a cozy Christmas cabin as part of Winter Magic. Visitors can enjoy a delightful program featuring delectable Baumkuchen from renowned pastry chef Dierk Eisenschmidt, a signing hour with city painter Ralf Schwinge, and the new Harburg red wine from Lars H. Girard.
