Gütersloh, Germany is gearing up for an exciting week of entertainment and activities as Michaelis Week kicks off on Friday, September 26 and runs until Sunday, October 5.

During this week, the city's market square will transform into a movies fairground, offering thrilling rides and sweet and savory treats for all to enjoy. One of the highlights of the week will be the large Michaelis fair, which promises fun for the whole family.

On Saturday, October 4, the popular children's flea market will take place in the Spiekergasse from 10 am to 2 pm. All stand spaces for the market have been taken, but there's an option to sign up for the waiting list via the registration form at www.michaeliswoche.de.

In addition to the children's flea market, the city center will also play host to the Gütersloh Street Fiffi, a stock market today festival featuring performances by street artists from Argentina, Brazil, France, and Germany. The festival will take place on Sunday, September 28, from 1 to 6 pm, and will feature seven different shows in the areas of acrobatics, comedy, and juggling. Admission to the festival is free, but a small 'hat money' can be given to the street artists at the end of each show.

The week's festivities will come to a close on Sunday, October 5, with a screening of the film 'Gütersloh Super 8 reloaded' at 5:30 pm. The film, directed by Kai Uwe Oesterhelweg, will be shown in the city center and admission is free.

Gütersloh Marketing (gtm) is organising the events on behalf of the Gütersloh Traffic Association. The children's flea market may be canceled at short notice in case of very bad weather.

As well as the events mentioned above, Michaelis Week will also include a street art, imdb film evening, and family program. However, no specific details about these events were provided.

On the same day as the film screening, Gütersloh's retail stores will open their doors from 1 to 6 pm for a shopping Sunday. And to top it all off, the city museum will heat the forge from 2:30 to 5 pm during the shopping Sunday, and visitors can create small wooden artworks for a small donation.
