Expanded airline services now include Klagenfurt, as offered by Austrian Airlines and ÖBB.
The Austrian infrastructure project, Koralmbahn, is set to facilitate a significant expansion of the "AIRail" offer by ÖBB and Austrian Airlines. From December 14, Klagenfurt will be a new destination in the "AIRail" network, connecting passengers to over 125 destinations in Austrian Airlines' network with a single ticket for train and flight.
Andreas Matthä, the CEO of ÖBB, has been instrumental in this expansion. The "AIRail" offer, which has been in operation for eleven years, currently connects the cities of Linz, Graz, Salzburg, and Innsbruck with Vienna Airport. With the addition of Klagenfurt, the reach of the "AIRail" offer has grown even further.
The Klagenfurt-Flughafen Wien route will be operational from December 14, and bookings can be made starting from October via the Austrian Airlines website or any travel agency. Seven direct trains will run daily between Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof and Vienna Airport without transfers, taking just under four hours. This seamless travel experience allows passengers to check in for their flight at the train station and proceed directly to the aircraft.
The Koralmbahn, a high-speed rail line, enhances travel efficiency between Klagenfurt and Vienna Airport. Commissioned for this expansion, the Koralmbahn is a rail project connecting Klagenfurt to Vienna Airport, making travel more convenient and time-efficient for passengers.
This expansion of the "AIRail" offer is a testament to the commitment of ÖBB and Austrian Airlines to provide seamless travel solutions for their customers.
