Dubai-based airline Flydubai initiates bi-weekly flights to the Moldovan capital, Chisinau.

flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, is expanding its reach in Europe with the addition of three new destinations: Iasi, Romania, Vilnius, Lithuania, and Riga, Latvia. The flights to Iasi will commence on 19 September, with services to Vilnius and Riga scheduled for December.

The airline's fleet consists of 94 Boeing 737 aircraft, and the flights will operate from Dubai International (DXB) Terminal 2. For passengers travelling from Chisinau, Moldova, the flights will depart from the International Airport 'Eugen Doga' Chisinau (RMO).

The new route reflects flydubai's focus on underserved markets and is a significant step in expanding connectivity to Europe. Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, expressed his excitement about the new route, stating, 'We are pleased to be launching flights to Iasi, Vilnius, and Riga, which will provide more travel options for passengers and further strengthen our presence in Europe.'

The inaugural flight to Chisinau was welcomed with a water cannon salute at International Airport 'Eugen Doga' Chisinau (RMO). American Airlines will codeshare on the flydubai route to Moldova, offering passengers even more convenience and seamless travel experiences.

The new route will operate twice-weekly, with flights on Wednesdays and Sundays. Return tickets for Economy class start from Dh1,600 from Dubai and EUR 380 from Chisinau. Business class return tickets start from Dh8,000 from Dubai and EUR 2,000 from Chisinau.

With the addition of these new destinations, flydubai now serves more than 135 destinations across 57 countries. The airline continues to expand its network, offering passengers more opportunities to explore the world.

The new European destinations for flydubai are set to provide more travel options for passengers, strengthening the airline's presence in Europe and offering a convenient and seamless travel experience.
