Delta & DraftKings Team Up to Revolutionize In-Flight Entertainment
Delta Air Lines and DraftKings have teamed up to revolutionize in-flight entertainment. The partnership, announced at CES 2025 by Delta CEO Ed Bastian, aims to make flying more enjoyable by incorporating gaming elements. While specifics are yet to be determined, the collaboration could pave the way for future in-flight games if laws change.
The Delta-DraftKings partnership is initially focused on fun games and integrating loyalty programs. Passengers could soon earn Delta SkyMiles while enjoying gaming content. Real-money sports games are not currently on the table due to U.S. laws such as the Gambling Devices Act of 1962 and the Gorton Amendment of 1994. However, if regulations shift, in-flight games could generate significant revenue for Delta.
This partnership is a testament to the growing intersection of technology, travel, and entertainment. It follows previous, short-lived attempts at in-flight games by other airlines. DraftKings sees this collaboration as a means to boost brand visibility and explore new uses of its games expertise.
