Exploring the Tuscan coast, draped along the Tyrrhenian Sea for about 275km, is a delight for wine lovers. The region, home to five provinces like Massa-Carrara, Livorno, Lucca, Pisa, and Grosseto, has a rich wine-making history, even though production often takes place far from the coast.

After a memorable winery visit in Bolgheri, one may even squeeze in a dip in the sea. However, the same isn't always possible elsewhere along the coast.

Strictly speaking, it's more appropriate to talk about the wines of the coastal provinces rather than the 'vini della costa.'

Enchanting views of the distant sea await you from the medieval city walls of Manciano, nestled in the Morellino DOCG hills, and San Miniato in Pisa's province is nearer to Florence than the coast itself.
