City's rich tapestry showcased in latest visual documentary

In the heart of Germany, the vibrant city of Hamburg takes centre stage with its new image film, premiered at the opening of the international Filmfest Hamburg on September 28th, 2023, at Cinemaxx Dammtor.

Directed by the renowned advertising filmmaker David Aufdembrinke, known for his collaborations with artists like Afrob & Samy Deluxe, Jan Delay, or Beginner, the film offers a colourful and imaginative journey through the city.

The film reflects the modernity and innovation of the region, showcasing a diverse cultural city that is home to new and still unknown places like the green bunker Feldstraße and the particle accelerator in the world-leading research centre DESY.

Timm Weber, Creative Director of Markenfilm Group, explains that the film includes one or two exaggerations to encourage viewers to visit Hamburg. The film surprises with a special moving image twist, utilizing fast cuts, animation, digital effects like motion graphics or split screens.

Rolf Strittmatter, CEO of Hamburg News and future.hamburg, states that the film primarily addresses young talents and guests from abroad. The aim is to spread the message of openness and tolerance of the location far beyond the German borders.

The new image film of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region was directed by Mark Christoph Klee from Hamburg. Albert Wiederspiel, festival director of Filmfest Hamburg, describes the new image film as full of visual surprises.

According to a location ranking, Hamburg remains top for businesses. This, combined with the city's rich history, vibrant culture, and innovative spirit, makes it an attractive destination for both residents and visitors alike.
