Capturing Memorable Mementos through Stunning Snapshots

The city of Nordhorn, located in the beautiful region of Grafschaft Bentheim, has introduced 17 new photo spots for tourists, designed to highlight the city's most picturesque corners. This initiative, aimed at providing guests with the opportunity for a perfect memory photo and encouraging exploration, was born from an application by the citizen forum in the Nordhorn city council on "city branding."

The idea for this innovative project was conceived by Janine Tönjes. The new photo spots have been strategically positioned based on the results of a photo competition in the LEADER region Grafschaft Bentheim. Each location features eye-catching signs installed in the ground, indicating attractive photo motifs for visitors.

Katrin Sepp, from the economic development of the city of Nordhorn, explains that attractive vacation photos shared on social media can significantly impact popular travel destinations like Nordhorn. She believes that this project will not only lead to great Nordhorn photos but also further enhance the image and popularity of the city as a travel destination.

The website for the photo spots, accessible at www.our website/photospots, offers two tour suggestions for photography enthusiasts. One tour is a 5.5 km long route, while the other is around 18 km long. The tours can be tracked using the navigation app Komoot or any common GPS device.

Those who publish their photos on Instagram are welcome to tag the city's channel @visitnordhorn. The city of Nordhorn looks forward to many creative shots and unforgettable impressions that tourists will take home from their stay and share with their network.

Instead of installing a large Nordhorn lettering, the administration suggested focusing on the existing sights of Nordhorn. Each sign is equipped with a QR code that leads to a website with an overview of all 17 photo spots. The city hopes that the new photo spots will encourage tourists to explore Nordhorn on their own.

In the future, the collection of special photo motifs in Nordhorn may be expanded. Sepp believes that this project will not only result in great Nordhorn photos but also contribute to enhancing the city's reputation as a travel destination.
