Brazil's Solar Boom: German Companies Eye Growing Market

vovendis, a German renewable energy consultancy, has published a comprehensive market study on the photovoltaic (PV) market in Brazil. The report, titled 'Solar-PV Market Brazil Status Quo 2016 - Opportunities for German Companies', is available for free to attendees of Intersolar Europe 2016. Meanwhile, Brazil's solar energy sector is booming, with over 1,000 MW of projects awarded and more than 400 projects registered for the next auction on 29.07.2016.

David Fischer, the managing director of vovendis, sees immense potential for German solar companies in Brazil's growing stock market today. The country has already made significant strides, with nearly 1,800 MW of capacity awarded through two successful auctions in 2015. As of April 2016, over 2,800 grid connections for decentralized solar power generation have been established.

Resolution 687/2015, effective since March 1, 2016, has brought substantial changes to Brazil's solar stock market, further driving its growth. With the stock market in its growth phase, Fischer advises industry players to secure their market shares now to capitalise on the opportunities presented.
