Basement Nightclub to Open in Dublin as Part of The Hoxton's Debut
In the heart of Dublin's vibrant Creative Quarter, a new addition is set to join the city's bustling scene. The Hoxton hotel group, known for its unique and stylish properties across Europe and North America, is opening its first Irish property in November.
The former Central Hotel building on historic Exchequer Street will be transformed into a 129-bedroom hotel, designed by Ennismore's in-house team, led by Martin Brudnizki. The team has integrated the Viking ruins discovered during the development phase, giving the hotel a distinctive and historical touch.
The hotel's bedrooms will follow The Hoxton's established categories of Snug, Cosy, Roomy, and Biggy, with colour palettes inspired by autumnal Irish landscapes.
On the ground floor, guests can find the new nightlife venue, Groundwork, celebrating "community, inclusiveness, and classic club culture." Meanwhile, the Viking-era ruins will be displayed within the ground-floor bar and lounge area, offering a unique experience for patrons.
Dollars, a New York deli-inspired sandwich shop during the day, will transform into a natural wine bar at night. The Library Bar, a local landmark, will be revived within the hotel, serving cheese toasties and Guinness by the fire.
For those seeking dining options, the property will offer multiple concepts, including Cantina Valentina, an all-day Peruvian restaurant already established at The Hoxton Brussels.
The hotel's location offers easy access to Grafton Street's retail offerings and Temple Bar's pub district. Nearby, visitors can explore independent shops, artisan craft stores, contemporary cafes on Drury Street, George's Street Arcade, and Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.
Ennismore's Dis-loyalty membership programme offers 50% off newly opened hotels within their portfolio, including The Hoxton Dublin. Early bookings at the Dublin property come with promotional offers, including 20% off rooms, €30 towards food and drink, and complimentary Guinness.
Olivia Palamountain reports on the opening of The Hoxton's first Irish property in Dublin, marking an exciting expansion for the hotel group across Europe and North America, with future openings including Vienna in 2024 and Florence and Edinburgh in 2025.
