Antarctica Witnesses the Debut of HX Expeditions' Massive Kayaking and Camping Venture
In an exciting development for adventure enthusiasts, HX Expeditions has announced a significant expansion of its kayaking and camping program in Antarctica for the 2025/26 season. The extended program promises a more inclusive, diverse, and environmentally responsible Antarctic experience.

The program will witness a 188% increase in kayaking capacity, accommodating up to 92 guests. The expansion includes two kayaking styles: traditional kayaks and the new "Discovery Kayaks," which are solo, inflatable, and self-guided, requiring no language proficiency. These kayaks were custom-designed in collaboration with NRS (US) and Escape Watersports (UK).
Camping capacity has been doubled, catering to up to 60 guests per night. There are two camping styles: Bivvy Bag Camping and Two-Person Tent Camping. The former offers a lightweight, low-impact option, providing an experience similar to true polar expedition camping. Guests will use custom-built Scandinavian gear to sleep under the stars. The latter, traditional camping using high-performance expedition tents, is ideal for those who prefer to share the experience.
Solo travelers are now welcome to participate in both kayaking and camping activities, with no partner required.
Environmental responsibility is at the heart of the program, which strictly adheres to International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) guidelines. This ensures environmental sustainability, responsible tourism practices, and minimal impact on the pristine Antarctic environment.
Besides kayaking and camping, the expanded program includes snowshoeing, polar plunges, and extended hikes, offering a diverse range of experiences for adventurers.
All kayaking and camping bookings will be managed onboard, allowing for real-time flexibility in scheduling.
