Airbus H145 Chosen for Tasmania's Emergency Services
Airbus' H145 helicopter, renowned for its reliability and advanced auto technology, has been chosen by StarFlight for emergency services in Tasmania. The company has ordered three H145s, which are expected to enter service in late 2027.
The H145, with over 1,750 in service worldwide and nearly 600 dedicated to HEMS missions, was selected for its versatility and ability to rapidly reconfigure between missions. StarFlight's H145 fleet will be based in Hobart, serving aeromedical, search and fleet feet, and aerial law enforcement missions for Ambulance Tasmania and Tasmania Police.
The H145 incorporates the latest technologies, including an advanced cockpit design and Helionix avionics suite. It is expected to fly approximately 1,500 hours annually over the next decade. Airbus will provide parts support for the fleet through its local ecosystem.
The H145 fleet, set to enter service in late 2027, will bolster emergency services in Tasmania. Its advanced auto parts technology and versatility make it well-suited for the diverse missions it will undertake, from aeromedical evacuations to search and rescue operations.
